I know this is kind of a simple, but also a little involved. I have a first generation iPad., running OS 3.2.2 with a jailbreak. Everything is fine, but some apps I want require at least OS 4, so it's time to upgrade. 3 questions
1) Anything I should back up except the obvious apps, downloads, contacts, photos, preferences and documents in iTunes?
2) Should I remove any apps that weren't iTunes store apps (Cydia and other) before I upgrade.
3) What program do you recomment to re-jailbreak the iPad 1?

Do a backup like you normally would (backing up everything, why would you not do that?), then do a fresh restore to ios 5.1.1 (no special tricks, just click restore). After loading your backup (or before if you prefer), jailbreak with Absinthe 2.0 (www.greepois0n.com). Then redownload your apps. I would suggest downloading OpenBackup from Cydia then backing up from there before you restore. Supposedly you can click a button and will redownload your packages once you jailbreak on ios 5.1.1, but I had bad luck with that. Instead, I would look at the backup.txt file in the /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/OpenBackup and install tha manuelly. But thats just me.
