I'm not saying Android is any better, but android is more developer friendly.

I've used the Android SDK and ADT Plugin for Eclipse when I was porting a game I originally made for my iPhone. Friendly is not the word I would use. Maybe if you came from a background that involved Java it would be a bit more bearable.
Even though I don't own a Mac, I run Lion in a virtual machine. This allows me to program with Xcode, which in my opinion is far more developer friendly.
All that being said, I knew quite a bit about Java before attempting my project. All in all, I think Java is to resource intensive. In the beginning Java was ment to run on everything. However, that doesn't completely resolve issues with fragmentation.

I did on ios 4 not yet on ios 5. but I do develop for android and I do not seem to find this so called unfriendly enviroment.
you have to get to know eclipse and google offers you help with every single project.
In no way I find android fragmented. Maybe the effort of downloading the specified sdk or generating your device is already too much for you?
Both are dev friendly yes but android is much cheaper and has more support.

Your original point was developer friendly.
Not price and support. And I dont know how android has more support, apple has documentation for every single function, every single thing including examples and example projects all for free. You only pay $99 if you want to put it in the AppStore or your phone. There are also tonnes of user posted stuff on YouTube, iphonedevsdk forums and stack exchange

Yeah well that includes dev-friendliness and android is free too.
They're both equally dev-friendly. Don't even think of saying apple has every single function explained and google does not.
That's simply not true and I hate everyone who just blindly follows the apple regime just because it's apple.
Every single success of google gets teared apart from those apple-loving-maniacs.
I do develop for Android and so far every single function was well covered.
