Sony’s PlayStation SVP of brand marketing has revealed that the Call of Duty franchise will be coming to PS Vita this Autumn.

Whilst its exact nature still eludes us, Activision‘s pledge of support for the Vita has coalesced into something more solid; there in the tea leaves, the figure of a man, his dependable firearm beside him in the mug-dregs – it’s Call of Duty!
So my bi-hourly tea breaks have finally paid off, but it’s hardly hard evidence. Fortunately, my soothsaying is corroborated by Sony‘s SVP of brand marketing for PlayStation, Guy Longworth.
Longworth has told GameTrailers that the Call of Duty franchise will be a “game changer for the platform”, and will arrive in some guise “in the Autumn”. Whether that Autumn release is a Black Ops or Modern Warfare 3 port, a new FPS or something else entirely isn’t yet clear.
In October, a Treyarch job listing revealed that the developer is working on “bringing our hugely successful game to a new console”, which would suggest that Black Ops is on its way to either the Vita or the upcoming Wii U.
