I used to think I was a tech head, but I was wrong!
I'm hoping to find some answers here. My entire network was hacked in September and I can't regain control. I had an iPhone 4 and really hoped the 4s might end it. No such luck. This site was in my safari history and I've never been here. My phone is 10 days old but it gets around- even while I sleep.
I'll post more details if anyone is interested. Its absolutely possible to remotely hack an un-jailbroken iphone, despite apple and their absolute denials.
I've been through 4 laptops, 3 desktops, a Mac and 2 android tablets, 5 windows phones and 3 iPhones since September, in an attempt to find a safe way to be online, but there's been no match. 2 laptops were hit in my car on the way home from buying them. This was before I knew what was going on. The second one I still have. It got it in frys parking lot as I burned rescue disks. Nothing around but my phones.
I know how I first brought it in, and I know it stealth tethers to anything close, but I can't explain some things that defy logic.
I had and used a windows htc touch pro 2. It started the nightmare. Somewhere it was hacked. Then it sent a stealth mms with a .dat file to my iPhone and rewrote the script on my router. I have pictures. And files, software, drivers...and forged ssl certificates by the score.
It's in the memory, but not so simple.
I hope that I can gain some insight here, maybe my hacker will clue me in.
I'm over it. I could sure use a break.
Crazy or not, no one touches my iPhone except me. Apps don't disappear, rearrange or show up on their own. AT&T doesn't give away tethering either. I have it free- i would do anything to lose it.

Moved to iSupport. You'll get more help here ;) Welcome to the forum btw.

Sorry to hear about your problems. You sound a little paranoid if I'm honest. Computers and phones can be hacked. However it's incredibly unlikely you'd be hacked immediately after purchase. If you were hacked you'd not know anything about it. Your router sounds like it's simply packed up as they'd need to know a lot about your hardware to do that.

What kind of things are they doing to you computers? Who ever they are, they are doing it for fun. Nobody hacks laptops with nothing on them, you wait a while and grab some credit card details :D non the less, this sounds like a local hacking, probably people next door. Do the following: disconnect all wifi devices in the whole house, ALL OF THEM (you could just turn off your router, but to be safe, hit the wifi switches on the laptops). Wipe all the laptops offline and install ubuntu (it's not safe, but it's the best you're going to get while retaining functionality)(also, use a local Internet hotspot to download the ISO). Go and reset your router, failing that, buy a new one. Put a wpa2 password on it. Don't run as root on ubuntu either, make a user account. That should about do you. This should at least give you a few months before the hacker finds a new exploit for your system.

I was a bit confused about whether you were having a security issue with your iPhone, labtop, router, or a mix of them. If its on an iPhone, I would suggest buying Firewall IP in Cydia (if you jailbreak) It gives you total control over which hostnames are allowed to make connection with your iPhone. That should end the "remote" hacking part of it. Just be sure to block the right IP. To be honest, you do sound a little paranoid though. Are you sure that It couldn't be a nosy sibling? They could have set up a VNC connection if you left your phone unattended to at some point. For someone to have remotely taken control of your phone (without ever touching it), they would have to have some serious computer skills. Which begs the second question, why would they want to bother you for so long If they haven't stolen anything valuable?

Yes. I'm suspect of everything that powers on by now.
Forgive me on some of this- I don't know much about how this is done.
My htc windows phone had rhodium and was hacked to tether. I didn't know it, all I knew is it didnt work for anything I needed it for- even the phone. It was always sending and receiving data. I just thought it was a pos- and it is. As it became worse, and in a weeks time it was useless, I felt my computer not acting right.
I do know a bit about that and networking- it was my job. I checked around in my pc and nothing jumped out. Ran scans and all good. Then I telneted into my ambit modem/router. It was configured in ways that shocked me. It was set up with a tunnel, the firewall on and configured, and other areas that I have no information on. And- I work on these all day- I'm a commercial data and phone tech. So I know how hard it should be to access from outside. I was confused. I unplugged it that day and have been with a dynamic modem, no wireless since.
I started trying to backtrack. Since my phone was going crazy, I took a look. There I found 2 text messages it sent my iPhone -s. one with a dat file- the other, made no sense but had no file.
I was real suspicious of the phone by now but I didn't really believe that could happen. So I just tried to keep it off when possible.
Looking at my computers, so many legacy drivers had been installed. My firewall was set to allow everything and the controls are all unavailable. I'm now on group policy and a client on a work group.
I grabbed my other laptop which was off- I never use it. Fired it up and it was the same.
Reformatted both (over and over) with same results. Forged ssl certificates are all that remain. Now getting agent droppers and redirects.
Go buy kaspersky pure. The disk will not load until xcopy has copied it, sets up controls which are all greyed

Oops- hard to type on phone. Anyway, no disk will load, or if it does, it is useless from lack of controls. I tried everything. Drive scrubber, webroot, norton stinger, kaspersky rescue.,, I think everything. I can remove the hdd and still can't win using a Linux partition.
2 computers in my car, still in parking lot or driving home had me under group policy control within 10 minutes of first booting. The only thing possible is my iPhone, my htc, or both. Both was it.
When I bring any new device in, I can easily tell when I begin to get certificate warnings, and it's literally within a minute.
This could all be malware. But there's more. I have seen actions on my desktop as if remote was active. It obviously was but showed disabled. Language packs appear where they once were not. Things happen before my eyes that I can't stop.
I am clueless why me, why so long. I opened my iPhone safari once to see a checkout page transition on [link removed] I didn't know what this site was, but found out. I have found a lot of interesting sites.
I've had all my mail accounts accessed. I have some ips and country of origin from gmail, but another was just taken over. Not for mail, but the calendar. It's hard to explain what I don't fully understand, so I do have a lot of files and pics. I did lose a lot on my last iPhone but it's easy to come by oddities.
I can't tell you why or how. I can only tell you if you bring any device around me or my phones, you'll lnow. I have old logs and see new ones- any device reaches out with ir or bt. My iPhone hotspot runs nonstop and my data usage is off the charts.
I've tried other machines. Even a Mac. The small amount of memory in the modem or something always finds its way in. Like the android tablets. Buy at hhgreggs, go across the street to staples parking lot for the hotspot. Nothing in car but iPhone and it's powered off. Guess? I couldnt get online to beef up security because I all my certificates were expired or not signed. Again- twice. Like the 2 new laptops.
Part of why I sound so crazy is typing a long complicated story on an iPhone. It sucks seeing a couple sentences at time. The other reason is all of the above. Tell me what you want to see. I was lost a long time ago.

Sorry I didn't respond individually. Again, the iPhone.
I see that if i jailbreak, I can get control. I wish this site would have appeared sooner ; )
Can I do it without a tether? I can load my os

Can I do it without a tether? I can load my os on to a computer but I'm not sure it will be effective. A bit like trying to boot a disk I am hopeful about. I set the bios boot order and reboot to hear it spinning like crazy then just stop.
Like I said- I don't have much control but I'll try anything.

I've found dozens of contradictions in this story now. How can you have antivirus on a computer and have only just bought it. If you're in a car park you won't have internet access. And if you've used all those tools then it only makes sense that the computers buggered as they'd all conflict, hog RAM and ruin the machine.

Wipe everything. Start again. Don't Root. Don't Jailbreak. Don't hack.
Only install one Antivirus program on each PC. Buy a legitimate version of Norton or McAfee and use it ONLY. Don't install mobile antivirus as they're all scams.

yeah wolvy is right in some points.
although some laptops or desktop computers are delivered with an anti virus.

Just reset your router, change password weekly or buy a new one with even more security tools.

Your phones can all be hacked simply by using same wifi as others, or leaving bluetooth on. this sounds scary I know but to be honest I don't believe many people have such software.

This sounds more scary than an actual horror story. If that were to happen to me, turn off everything, disconnect my router from the phone line, reset it, format my computer, install something like avira anti virus, access my router, set it up with a WPA-2 Password. Install itunes and restore my phone without opening it.

I think you are over exaggerating your story though, you must have some kind of government secrets or something for someone to pull something like that on you. It's more than likely that a sibling or sumone is doing all this. It's a good idea to never visit any websites that dont appear normal. Always look at the url in the addressbar before logging in. If you think someone may be tampering with your computer, install deepfreeze after installing all your programs so that anything installed afterwards will be deleted after a reboot. As for your iphone, it's highly unlikely that an sms with a .dat file can hack it.

Crash logs do not contain personal information so no worries there.

Your logs show that:

You've had a few lost connections (dropped calls?)
You're missing some files from the Facebook app you installed from the Appstore (reinstalling it may replace those files)
Bluetooth appears to be functional. (turns on and off)
Looks as if you may have restrictions enabled (You can disable them in Settings>General>Restrictions)
(You have a CMDA iPhone from Verizon on the east side of America?)

A few things to consider:
Are you currently Jailbroken?
If so, with what program?
Have you tried a clean restore? (without going to a backup, should say set up as new phone)
Has your device ever been exposed to water or damage resulting from a fall?

No indication of any hacking there. You're paranoid, Phones do things whether you tell them to or not. My Vita is currently telling Sony where I live and where I work. It's a fact that they track things and report whilst not in use. Even if the functions are disabled.

As for the other things, apps crash, bugs happen, exceptions occur. iOS covers them up.

Hi bandit -
This phone is not even 3 weeks old and I haven't jailbroken. I've never turned the bluetooth on except to toggle it on and off after seeing what I aleady knew. I also do not ever have wifi on.
It doesn't matter what I set my controls too- they get reset and still show "off". I knew back in october this was happening when the first new computers got hit while still in my car.
I haven't been in fb since Super Bowl Sunday.
I have double apps in my back up settings and there are app 'settings' that dont have apps installed. I have iCloud sync off s o wherever it constantly syncs to is not apple.
This log is not unusual. The fact this new phone is out of control is no surprise either. I'm sitting in my couch surrounded by 4 Mac's that go to the bone pile to add to my collection.
A pc won't last an hour. A Mac won't make it 3 days- and usually 2.
The first thing that happens (on new devices that I could update security before bringing home) is ssl errors. I have tried to stop it but can't. If a machine is on, I don't care what firewa or av (I've tried them all) it is no match. The settings just get written to allow everything.
My web history is not 1/2 mine. That's just wrong.
I live alone. My neighbors are all older and I know them. It's not local. It's Chinese, Japanese German, Norway. And a few more. Chinese character editors Have popped up on my screen while I was on it.
It shows constant USB connections off and on and it the short time I've had this phone, I've not been able to sync. In fact, I haven't synced my iPhone since September because I haven't had a computer long enough.
Here's some of my logs from right now
I appreciate you taking a look. I've been out of ideas for months.

Hey wolvey- yes I am paranoid. But I've had IPhones since they first came out and they never added apps on their own until this. my phones never before sent out stealth .dat files to other devices either. They never locked me out of disabling controls and they never hacked all my email accounts, added contacts that are redirects (not what they say- I emailed one and tried to track the header). And calanders- I have no idea what that's about but there are always calanders syncing that are not mine, and I had to close my hotmail because I couldn't even understand what i saw there, just scripting. And when I emailed hotmail to suspend it, hotmail replied and within a day I got another reply In the wrong language claiming to be hotmail admin. of course it wasn't. I might still have that but things tend to disappear.
I know what you're saying. We are tracked- all of us. The hanging with friends logs are scary! But even though you might not see it in the logs, I'm telling you I am not plugging in my phone to USB and my wifi and Bluetooth ALWAYS show "off".
It's not just my phone. In fact, My IPhone is the only device that stays functional. I've been through 6 work phones. I just shut it down and forwarded my calls because I was not getting 75% of them, and it is about to cost me my job. While sitting in a conference room getting interrogated by my manager and IT director, I watched the brand new phone on the table. The data connection was set off on it to but before leaving that room it was compromised.
Yes I am paranoid. I think anyone would be if this happened. It had messed up every single aspect of my life.
I'm not technically challenged either. Though I don't know as much about this end as any of you, I am a master tech in broadband and digital. But a year ago I'd have thought all this impossible. Believe me, what I've seen defies logic so often, I have no idea how some of this craziness even happens. But it does.
If anyone wants to remote into a machine and take a peek, let me know. It might be crowded though.
I know I sound crazy and having to type everything on an iPhone compounds the problem I apologize but it sucks seeing only a sentence at a time.

I'm having a bit of difficulty with some of your information. First: you said your iPhone was less than 3 weeks old. Then you said you hadn't synced it since September.

Regardless, looking at the logs the only conclusion I can think of is that your device may be stuck in a demo mode or diagnostic mode.

Now, assuming you device was purchased with 365 days, it will still be under warranty. I would advise returning to your local Apple store and showing them the problems with it. If you have a legitimate problem, I know for sure that they will replace it.

Once receiving a new device, do not sync it, and do not connect it to a home or work wireless network. On 3G alone, I am absolutely certain that your device should not be compromised. If for whatever reason it is, then you're doomed.

As for your PC's, boot into safemode and download these programs:
rkill
Malwarebytes
Avast free antivirus

Run rkill (it will stop any rogue processes)
Run malwarebytes (it will remove existing malware)
Install avast (it will protect your pc from any further threats)

All of these programs are free and can be found with Google.
