One of the many great things about Cydia is that you can add sources (repos) so that you are not restricted to content from any one place (**cough cough App Store). Cydia comes with some default sources that host a lot of popular content. But there are other sources you may find that have exclusive, beta, or alternate content that you want to add to Cydia. These are the instructions on how to add additional sources to Cydia.

Step One: Your device must be jailbroken and have Cydia installed. Click here for tutorials on how to jailbreak your device.

Step Two: Open Cydia and click the Manage tab on the bottom.

Step Three: Click Sources.

Step Four: Click Edit on the top right corner.

Step Five: Click Add on the top left corner.

Step Six: Type the URL and click Add Source.

Step Seven: After verification, the source will be added and you can now browse the new content. Done!

Really great. But what if we would create a subboard that has all of these beginner tutorials?

Maybe even having a post restriction on it like mods have to approve (c.f. inews section) ?

Thanks.

Well the tutorials section has the fewest amounts of topics than any other iDevice section we have so I'd like to beef it up and keep them in here. Even some of the ones that are here are weak! I think we need more reviews, news and tutorials to make this forum more helpful and informational - which turns us into a great resource and support community! Also I'm trying to attack the most often asked support questions to make the pinned topic meaningful.

One thing I've discussed is having some topics in iNews that are informative - such as What is iCloud? It wouldn't be a tutorial necessarily. Then again maybe those would belong here too. Like your Photostream topic! There's obviously a long list of possible topics. If you are interested in collaborating on what needs to get done first let me know.

yeah I feel the same about the forum but i only guessed it would be very easy for beginners to just check out all the beginners guides in one subboard meaning

iTutorials> Beginners Guides
> Advanced Guides

I think like that it would be much easier and much more sorted out. Like if one quickly checks DFU mode it's there and it won't get lost. Of course there's the choice of pinning them but to be honest it doesn't look that nice out of the view of a designer :b

Maybe we could pin a Beginner's topic that has a list of links to all of them! Kind of like the FAQ in support but with beginner's topics.

Yeah, I think these should be cleared, locked and accessed by a stickied and possibly locked thread.
