I've been wanting to set up a hackintosh for myself but I'm not sure if I can. My computer is a Acer Aspire 5532, not really good but it handles itself fairly well. It's got an AMD processor and I know OSX doesn't support it natively but I've read that it can work. It's also got ATI Mobility Radeon 3200 graphics card, a Atheros wireless card I believe, and I'm not sure what else but I think those are the main things that matter. I found one distro(?) called iDeneb that I think would work, it's known to work well with AMD CPUs and it's got kexts and stuff built in that you choose during installation. I've also heard of iAtkos but haven't looked into that much. I know that I could use a retail disc and use Multibeast to setup everything. I looked up my graphics card and kexts do exist for that so I know that is good. Idk what I have for sound. Also my CPU is kinda shit, it's clocked at about 1.60Ghz if that matters. So from this do you think I could get a hackintosh up and running real good? I'm not too worried about getting Lion, I'd be fine with Snow Leopard or even Leopard.

snow leopard should work ok, but i dont know anything about getting an AMD to work in all honesty. iv'e heard that AMD people are having a lot of luck with iDeneb. if your doing this for fun then go ahead, but i dont think you will end up with a system you can use daily. one reason being the spec, and the second being that AMD support isn't going to be as good as native apple support.

so yer, basically i dont think its going to run as well as whatever OS your run as a primary, as that will be designed for AMD. i could be totally wrong though. theres no harm in trying it.

yeah chris is right don't force yourself into this. I mean even some users having Intel processor are having trouble installing or setting up a hackintosh even though it seems pretty easy.
I had an AMD processor myself a few years ago and I didn't do a hackintosh because you're going through loads of trouble for not much.

When you get money build yourself one of the mac os running computers featured on tonymacx86.

iDeneb 1.4 uses OSX 10.5 I believe, which would probably run okay with my specs right? I'm not sure if I have the patience to get it all up and running fine lol. I would want to be able to use it daily, but I don't think I'd be able to either, I'm not gonna do it. I found a Linux distro called Pear OS which is based off of Ubuntu 11.10 and is just a straight up clone of OSX lol, I'm gonna give that a try, I know it's not gonna be just like OSX but I'll give it a spin. Thanks for the help

apple used several different types of connectors on their keyboards over the years. i cant name them but I've seen them.
