Modern Warfare 3′s TU8 patch vastly increases the speed of YouTube uploads, rebalances a handful of weapons and tweaks lag compensation, among other fixes.
Everyone knows that when you hold two of the same gun in each hand, they can only fire 50% slower than if you were holding just one. Modern Warfare 3 had foolishly ignored this science-approved fact – until now, with Title Update 8 patch handing akimbo weapons a 50% fire rate penalty. Finally!
Infinity Ward community person Robert Bowling also says all shotguns besides the Striker have received a buff, the latter having been slightly nerfed, while various “networking enhancements” have been introduced, speeding up the time it takes to upload YouTube videos from within MW3′s Theatre mode and improving lag compensation. Some stat-related bugs appear to have been squished, too.
Right now the update is only available to Xbox 360 players, but should see release on PS3 and PC very soon. You can read the full patch notes on the Infinity Ward forums. TU8 certainly looks like the Call of Duty developers wanting to squeeze in some last-minute enhancements before rolling out their monthly, Rob Riggle-starring DLC strategy.
