Anyone know if this is possible? I use my iPhone like an iPod touch but I'd get a data plan for it if I could. I don't want or need another voice plan though. I wish we could just buy a data plan for phones if we're not on contract.

No you have to have a $39.99 phone plan or higher on iPhones

Unless they changed the policy which I doubt. They just recently changed their data plans. $30 for 3gb's no more $25 for 2gb plans

GTFO I didn't ask for bad news!

Jk I figured. :( Didn't know if I could mess with VPN settings or something to make it work.

Yeah I knew about that. 3GB would be enough which is what made me think about this.

Can you tether your other phone or iPad?

I don't have a 3G iPad. I tether my Galaxy Nexus to my iPhone and iPad when it's plugged in to a charger but when I'm out I don't want to waste the battery.

I don't want a 3G iPad because I either have Wi-Fi or a way to keep my Galaxy Nexus charging while I tether when I have my iPad. I bring my iPhone everywhere though so I wish I could have data on it too.

This is probably the easiest of the three options. Simply download the app, install it on your device, and you’ll be able to check your data usage whenever you want (tap the Usage menu and then the Data button).
