I'm pretty sure that Apple relies on the work of third party development more than they would like to admit. I am confident that they will never try to really stop it. They may talk tough about it, but in the long run they adopt work that they do not have to pay for. In essence, cheap labor. We need devices to do more and more. We also do not want to pay for the same service more than once. A good example of that is mobile hotspot. Why is it that my device is capable of creating a hotspot, but to use it I have to pay 20 bucks a month. That's what needs to be illegal!
