When creating a world, you now have the option to make it a complete flat land.
Sheep eat grass and regrow their wool now.
Apples fall from trees.
In creative mode, you can use different colored eggs to spawn different mobs.
Brewing times for potions is reduced.
Golden apples can now be made.
Ladders can't be stood on now.
Different languages can be turned on, including pirate language.

I probably forgot something...

Graphics Processing Unit, aka your "grapics card".

World size has always been the problem for me and is probably the issue for most that get low fps. When i played custom maps like skyblock it runs prefectly on high settings. notch/jebs needs to add and option to choose from like a small, medium, large world.

There's a list of everything going to be added in the future on the Wiki...the ones I'm looking forward to most are Sky Realm (Aether) and Capture the Flag game mode

Turn down your graphic settings... like render distance "small"

That's definitely where your bottlenecking at. Best advice is to try adjusting settings and create a batch file that allows you to run minecraft with more RAM allocated to it.
