There is a tweak in the insanelyi repo that will remove all 2x retina icons. You don't use them on a 3G/ GS device. So why have them sitting there taking up valuable space? Also by removing these icons your device won't be having to check through extra icons. So go to Cydia. Install Remove Retina from insanelyi run the command 2xrm in terminal and get rid of those extra icons. 4G users should stay away from this. So if you remove 2x icons and languages you should get a little boost in performance and in disk space.

I ran it on my 3GS and it scrolls a little more smoothly it seems. The animations seem a bit smoother too.

Download lang2ez and Syspartition from the insanely repo.

It says for 3rd gen devices on 4.x only. Have you looked with iFile to see if you even have 2x icons?

No. You would have to re-remove the icons. Because the iPhone 4 has it's icons already and,  the apps on the computer have all their icons intact. You just remove them from the 3GS. You would probably have to run it after each sync with the 3GS. I'll check it out tonight.
