How to Save SHSH Blobs using Tiny Umbrella.

Hello, we're going to look at how to save our SHSH blobs using a tool called Tiny Umbrella. Saving our SHSH blogs periodically is a must if you want to guarantee your device is eligible to run a firmware which is not the latest. This comes in handy if and when you are required to restore your device (for whatever reason) and the latest firmware is not jailbreakable. Using the following method, you will be able to guarantee you can always restore to a firmware where a jailbreak does exist.

What is an SHSH blob?

Put simply, an SHSH blob is a handshake or signature from apple that allows you to install their firmware on your device. When a new firmware is released apple will stop singing the previous release, not allowing you to install that firmware. What Tiny Umbrella does is make a copy of the "handshake" and saves it for use later, allowing us to install any firmware at any time (providing we have the correct "handshake" or SHSH blob).

So lets begin.

Step one - Getting Tiny umbrella.

The first thing we need to do is download the latest version of Tiny Umbrella. i have supplied a link to the most current versions below...

OS X
Windows

Once downloaded, proceed as you normally would installing any software.

Continue and accept your way though the setup process until you have Tiny Umbrella installed.

Step Two - Getting ready

Now we have successfully installed Tiny Umbrella we can start it up. By now we have connected our device to our computer using apples supplied 30 pin USB transfer cable. Upon first launch you will get a dialog box explaining that Cydia is currently saving SHSH blobs.

I suggest you take their advice and disable "Request SHSH From Cydia" under the "Advanced" tab, in the middle of the app window.

Step Three - Lets save some SHSH blobs.

Now that's all sorted we can proceed to save our SHSH blobs. On the left hand side of the application you will notice a column that displays any devices connected to the computer. Select your device and hit the "Save SHSH" button towards the top right hand corner of the application window.

This will quickly pull any and all SHSH blobs from your device and save them to the directory selected under the "Advanced" tab.

Congratulations! You have now successfully saved all available SHSH blobs for your device. Tiny Umbrella will list all available blobs under "General" when your device is selected in the left hand column.

Check out my other Tiny Umbrella tutorial HERE (under construction) for instructions on how to downgrade your firmware using the Blobs we pulled in this tutorial.

How-to: iCloud (Backup)

Hello again and thanks for reading this tutorial meaning you either have no idea how to work with iCloud or you only want to know more.

As mentioned in one of my previous tutorials iCloud is a new service introduced by Apple with iOS 5.0. It's basically nothing new because cloud computing existed already a while ago.

This part is going to treat the backup part of iCloud.

Step 1

Backup in Windows. You can backup your Calendar, Addresses and so on using Microsoft Outlook. (INFO: iCloud only allows Microsoft Outlook) Now you have to know that backing up things as addresses and dates is some really important material you should be very careful before you sync with iCloud. Create a backup of your files in Outlook using the function Import/ Export to save your data.

Chose Export to create a .pst file containing your personal information, dates and addresses.
Chose Import to the retrieve the .pst file. Now if something were to be going wrong you can always retrieve the data.

To create a backup in Mac OS X using iCal youc an save not only addresses or subscriptions but reminders too.

Open up iCal and use clipboard>export>iCal archive and name your backup. The images you assign to your contacts are backed up as well. If you want you can even back up the Bookmarks from your Safari.app.

Step 2

Activate the iCloud synchronization.

Under Mac OS X go to System Prefernces>iCloud
Under Windows go to Control Panel>iCloud

Sign in or create a free account. Now select all the options to backup all the data with iCloud/Outlook or iCal.

And you're done. There's nothing more you have to do on your computer.

To sync iCloud with the iPhone or iPod touch you simply hit your settings>icloud and activate everything you want/need one at a time.

How To Add Sources (Repos) to Cydia

One of the many great things about Cydia is that you can add sources (repos) so that you are not restricted to content from any one place (**cough cough App Store). Cydia comes with some default sources that host a lot of popular content. But there are other sources you may find that have exclusive, beta, or alternate content that you want to add to Cydia. These are the instructions on how to add additional sources to Cydia.

Step One: Your device must be jailbroken and have Cydia installed. Click here for tutorials on how to jailbreak your device.

How To Put a Device In DFU Mode

When jailbreaking a device or if the device is unresponsive and needs a restore, it may be necessary to put the device in DFU mode. DFU stands for Device Firmware Update. It's a simple process, but sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to work until you get the hang of it.

Step One: Turn off the device. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button at the top until the "Slide to Power Off" appears. Slide and wait for the device to turn black.

Step Two: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake Button and Home button at the same time. Hold them both for 10 seconds.

Step Three: After 10 seconds have elapsed, release the Sleep/Wake button but continue to hold the Home button until iTunes prompts you the device is in recovery mode. The screen on the device will remain black. You are done!

You can also watch the video below which walks you through it and times it for you.

How to BUUF iOS 5 +

BUUF iOS 5

I hope this help, and please see attached screenshots.

For you own copy I have included a download of about 2000 Buuf icons downloaded from the internet that I use quite a lot. Might help, might not

http://www.armywakeb...-Buuf-Deuce.rar

Right use this as you will, but if you want your BUUF theme to work with iOS 5+ (iPhone 4) follow the steps below. I have not tested this theme on iPhone 4S so cannot comment if this procedure will work (although I can’t see why it won’t )

What you will need

iFile - Available on Cydia.

WinterBoard - Available on Cydia.

WinterBoard Fix iOS5 - Available on Cydia.

SBSettings - Available on Cydia.

iExplorer - Follow link - http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/

some time, infact quite a bit of time

Things to do before we start

Before we get started i think it's best to have the correct tweaks, theme and tools installed, so without delay open Cydia and download the following theme sections.

BUUF Infinity

BUUF FlipClockLAW HD

BUUF Icons

BUUF Loaders 2 (There are two loaders download, I prefer 2 you may want both or just 1?)

This may take some time and I would recommend being connected to Wi-Fi as its about 200mb in total.

On a side note do NOT download BUUF Live Time. It has failed for me on 3 separate iPhones and caused a re-spring loop. You don’t really need it and you can change the icon later using iFile should you want to.

Now thats done download and install the following tweaks from Cydia in order to have the theme working in the best possible way.

BytaFont + FontPack 1

ClockHide-PK

GridLock

Color Keyboard

Custom NC Background

Icon Renamer

LockInfo

NoSpot (Optional)

No Page Dots (Optional)

Notifier+

Stereo SBSettings

Now once all this is installed we can start to amend.

Open Winterboard and enable the following theme sections only!

BUUF Infinity

BUUF FlipClockLAW HD

BUUF Icons

BUUF Loaders 2

Go ahead and re-spring.

In the current state your phone according to what i class as a fully integrated theme is about 70% done. Lets go ahead and finish that 30%!

All downloads containing modified theme sections will be listed when needed.

moving on...

Now before we continue you should do the following:

Download the following .rar file

http://www.armywakeb.../Buuf.theme.rar

Connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable and open iExplorer

Navigate to /var/stash/Themes.XXXXXX/Buuf.theme/

Delete the entire Bundles folder and the UIImages folder (You may not have a UIImages folder this doesn’t matter, please continue on)

SMS-Background Images are also contained within the Buuf∞.theme folder, copy over the contained files if you want to replace this too. (Check screenshots to view bg image above).

Copy the Bundles and UIImages folders from the .rar file you just downloaded (Drag and Drop) from your desktop to the iPhone using iExplorer (And the bg images should you want too)

Now this is done, disconnect your phone from the computer and re-spring, once the iPhone comes back on you should notice that your StatusBar icons are changed and showing correctly.

I only had to rename 400+ icons....

Now that you have the main BUUF theme sorted we can move on to the other sections of the theme, so without delay let’s go ahead and get that keyboard themed.

Keyboard Theme

Before you start you will need to download the following file and upload it to your themes directory on the iPhone using iExplorer

http://www.armywakeb...rd.HD.theme.rar

/var/stash/themes.XXXXXXX/

You do NOT need to enable this from WinterBoard.

moving on...

So go ahead and open up your settings app on the iphone and navigate down to ColorKeyboard (we installed this earlier) open it up and click on the “Select Themes” button, from this list select BUUF CK. Go back Select “Select PopUp Key” and click on BUUF CK Popups.

Re-spring and you're done.

Notification Centre Theme

Before you start you will need to download this file

http://www.armywakeb.../Wallpapers.rar

Upload the content of this file to the following folder on your iPhone using iExplorer.

/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE/ - all we are doing is adding the wallpapers to your photo stream. You can move them or upload them to another folder, it's entirely up to you.

This will make theming the NC much easier, as a selection of BUUF wallpapers are already on the device preventing the need to find them .

So moving right along...

Open the settings app and scroll down to CustomNCBackground, you want the following.

Enable = On | Fill Screen = Off | Pick Image and then browse the folder for the images you have just added from the wallpaper download provided. Select and close, then re-spring (You may need to re-spring after uploading the wallpapers to your device in order for them to show.) but i doubt it.

Now that you have the background image sorted you may or may not want to change the icons that are used for the toggles (Drop down window). If you do want to change the icons simply download the file below and upload the entire folder using iExplorer to have the same icons as shown above in my screenshots.

Follow the steps below..

Download http://www.armywakeb...uf/SBStereo.rar

Navigate to /var/mobile/Library/SBSettings/Themes/

Delete SBStereo from this folder using iExplorer

Upload the SBStereo folder contained within the download

Re-spring

Done.

LockInfo Section

This part is quite easy, all you have to do is configure the LockInfo from the settings app and select the theme to be BUUF, the beauty of this is that the theme comes built in.
So open settings, navigate to LockInfo and select configure.

Notifier+

Do the same with this apart from there is no buff theme installed, but it will use the icons from the LockInfo theme and display them in the statusbar, all you have to do is disable the app icons showing in the statusbar in Notifier+ as they show automatically and you will have duplicates if you do not configure correctly. This part is simple, just open the app from the settings app and configure.

BytaFont + FontPack 1

Right lets get the font working, open BytaFont and select Akbar and re-spring = done.

BUUF FlipClockLAW HD

Last but not least lets configure the BUUF FlipClockLAW HD to display your weather correctly.

It's quite simple and its best to use iFile for this as you don’t need to connect your iPhone to your computer / mac.

Open iFile

Navigate to /var/mobile/Library/PerPageHTML/BuufFlipClockLAWHD/

Click on Settings.js - Open with text viewer / editor.

Within this file you will see a few options, it does explain what to do so ill leave that to you.

To get your correct weath code use the following link http://edg3.co.uk/sn...location-codes/

Enter this where it says: var locale =”XXXXXXXX”

True or false what ever else you want from the file and click save / done / and re-spring.

That’s it for now, all done.!

If you have any questions please ask, and i hope this helped.

Enjoy your new theme.!

How-to: Photostream

Alright guys, in this tutorial I quickly demonstrate you on how to use Photostream and iCloud service that Apple provided with a recent Firmware update, the iOS 5.0.

Now to start off iCloud isn't anything new. Many webpages offer you storage plan and "Cloud Computing"
seems to become the real deal. So much of a deal that Apple simply created it's own Cloud system. The regular User has a 5 GB storage plan which is for free.

If you want more you'll have to buy either 10GB (15GB total), 20GB (25GB total) or 50 GB (55GB total).
To use this service you'll need an iCloud account which of course can only be created if you have a valid
Apple ID which can be made for free.

You can upload a total of 1000 images which will be online for 30 days. The thing about Photostream is that you'll have your images on every idevice withe the same user account. To upload images you'll need a WiFi
connection. Why? well you'll be upload loads of data and Apple was kind enough to block 3G so it doesn't blow
your dataplan at your carrier company.

Once you created an Apple ID and iCloud account it's time to set it all up. Hit the Settings app and navigate to the iCloud tab and chose your settings. Now what you want to do this hit Photostream and activate it. Now your pictures won't only be saved local but on every device with the same iCloud ID.

That's all you need to know about Photostream on your iPhone/iPod 4G/ Ipad 2.

TO use Photostream with with your Windows computer you'll need to download the iCloud Control Panel by Apple (Link http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL1455/en_US/iCloudSetup.exe) and install it on your PC.

Once your done simply activate your Photostream. It's really easy. Your pictures are now stored locally in the Pictures folder. If you wish to upload images to your idevice you can use the folder named Uploads.

To activate Photostream on your Mac simply open up System Preferences and navigate Internet & Wireless and click on iCloud and switch the tab to activate same as on a Windows computer.

This will create a Photostream tab in iPhoto where you images will be saved and you can upload some to your idevice.

Now you have successfully set up Photostream, one of many services of iCloud.

How To Unlock Your iPhone Using ultrasn0w

Here are instructions on using ultrasn0w to unlock your device if it is on a supported baseband.

Ultrasn0w currently supports the following basebands: 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, 06.15.00, or 01.59.00. If your baseband is not listed there is no software unlock available at this time. It is important to note that you cannot downgrade basebands. If you want to upgrade to a newer firmware while preserving your baseband, follow the tutorial here.

If you are wondering if ultrasn0w will be updated to support newer basebands please note that the developers of ultrasn0w have stated not to expect any update as the exploits they used have been patched by Apple.

Step One: Your iPhone must be jailbroken to install ultrasn0w. Follow tutorials on ihackmyi to learn how to do this.

Step Two: Launch Cydia from your springboard.

Step Three: Go to search and type ultrasn0w. Click Install, then Confirm.

Step Four: Click Restart Springboard.

Step Five: Insert your SIM card and enjoy your unlocked phone. You will need to go to Settings/General/Network/Cellular Data Network and enter your carrier's settings to use MMS and data. This site is a great resource for those settings.

How To Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1, and iPod Touch

Here are instructions on using redsn0w to perform an untethered jailbreak on the following devices running iOS 5.0.1:

iPhone 4

iPhone 3GS

iPad 1

iPod Touch 4G

iPod Touch 3G

How To Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on iPad 2 and iPhone 4S

The untethered jailbreak for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S has finally arrived! The steps are simple and similar whether you are on Mac or Windows.

This jailbreak is called Absinthe. Thanks to all those who contributed to bringing making this jailbreak happen. This is a jailbreak only. There currently is no unlock method for iPhone 4S besides buying one factory unlocked.

The jailbreak works untethered on the following devices and firmwares:

iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406)

iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1

Step One: Make a full back up of your device in iTunes by right clicking the device in the list on the left. Make sure your device is on the correct firmware.

Step Two: Download the Absinthe jailbreak tool:

Windows Version

Mac Version

Step Three: Connect your device to the computer using the usb cable.

Step Four: Double click and open the Absinthe tool.

Step Five: Click the Jailbreak button. Wait while it goes through the process and reboots.

Step Six: Click the Absinthe icon on your device. It will cause your device to reboot. Keep trying if it fails.

how to hack apps using IDA PRO

this is prob a crummy tut cuz its my first so i can use teamveiwer and show u how if u want.

it is a long and complicated process, ur going to need ida pro so u can google for that u can either crack it or get the trial. once u have that u need the app u want to hack sooo ill use deathnight as an example for this.

1. download the cracked version of the game u want to hack ( u will not be able to hack app downloaded form the app store cuz they are encrypted )

2. once u have the app open it up using winrar, and open the payload folder, in there you should see a bunch of files look for the binary file (EX. most of the time it is the largest file in there. also it does not have an extension on it and most of the time its the same name as the app.)

3. open it up in IDA pro, if you have a iphone 3g or ipod touch 2G and lower click on the arm 6 option if u have a 3GS or 3G ipod and up choose arm 7, then click on the drop down menu and select the top option. (it should say arm) and click done (just hit ok on all the other popups u get there should only be 2)

4. let it finish decompileing it. and when its done click on the left box that says function and press ALT+T.

5. here is when u figure out wut u wanna hack, i wanna hack the amount of money i get for killing someone. sooo search for something that would make sence like money so type that in and look for a function that sounds like wut we need, so i found the fuction "DeathKnight::AddMoney(int)" that sounds right so double click on it.

6. now here comes the hard part it requires u to use ur brain . once u found the function and double click on it, hit space (this is optional i think its easy to read in the flow chart.). now u will see the whole function and wut it does. this is wut it should look like (note every function has different code).

Quote

; DeathKnight::AddMoney(int)
EXPORT __ZN11DeathKnight8AddMoneyEi
__ZN11DeathKnight8AddMoneyEi
LDR R2, =(__ZN11DeathKnight6g_cashE - 0x4B4E)
ADD R2, PC ; DeathKnight::g_cash
LDR R3, [R2]
ADDS	R0, R0, R3
STR R0, [R2]
CMP R0, #0
BGE locret_4B5A

now u need to think wut it does and wut all the R's mean, we now that R2 is our cash becouse it tells us in the first line. i will now show u wut this function does and means (remember u need to think, u wont always be right the first time.) i know wut it means becouse i have already hacked it before.

Quote

; DeathKnight::AddMoney(int)
EXPORT __ZN11DeathKnight8AddMoneyEi
__ZN11DeathKnight8AddMoneyEi
LDR R2, - this is loading our current money into the game
ADD R2, PC-this is loading our money into a holding area so if we quit the game it we revert back to wut we had.
LDR R3, [R2] - R3 is the enemy so when we kill him his money loads into ours
ADDS	R0, R0, R3 - R0 is how much money we get, so its adding the money into the enemy
STR R0, [R2] - now it is storing the money we get into our current money ( this is the command we wanted hacked)
CMP R0, #0 - compares money to see if it is empty, if it is then that means we got the money and the function restarts.
BGE locret_4B5A

now remember each regester means something different in each function. so R0 in another function wont be money it could be health, strength etc depending on the function u hack sometimes it could be a place holder and not mean anything.

7. so now that we know what we need to change we need to know wut to change it too, since the function is storing money into our player we dont need to change the header (meaning the STR in the begining of the line) we just need to tell it to store something bigger into our money. there is a regester that is most of the times never used it is the heavenly R7 regester that regester hold the number 312,000,000 so lets use it we want to change the function STR R0, [R2] to STR R7, [R2} so that we get a buttlaod of money.

8. now u cant change the function inside of IDA for that u need to hex it useing a hex editor, so look and IDA and hilight wut we need to chage. and click the tab Hex Veiw and look at the bottom left corner for an adress. it should look something like this "00003B50" that is were u need to go in the hex editor. once there change the hex into the new one (for that u need a ARM to HEX converter). save the file and there u go u got a new hack.

hope this helped u, if u want me to show u via Team Viewer message me and u can watch my computer and ill do it.

Past betas have required a registered UDID with the Developer Center to get the software running on the iOS device.

More RAM!

This is my first tutorial, and I'm not sure if this will work for anyone besides me but...
My old iPod 2g has been getting slower, and slower, and slower. So I decided that it was worth it to add virtual memory. I tried the downloadable VM Daemon from cydia and a few other methods but none worked. Then I found a package called "iAHT" that has a suite of scripts you can run. I used the FreeMyiPhone (which had a lot more options then the other FMI package in cydia), then ran "install vm". This has been a drastic improvement- from 20mb RAM up to 65 max. It seems smoother and more responsive. Here's a how to if you're newer or less experienced with terminal (like me ).

1.) Download iAHT from Cydia (Repo is http://iNinjas/repo/)
2.) In terminal navagate to mobiles/pentest/exploits/iAHT/scripts and then run it with this*: ./"install vm"
3.) Reboot.

Also consider using their version of FMI**

*you need the quotations because the script is two words.
**Sign into root first or you will get access denied errors a lot while running FMI.

AirDrop is one of the great new features of Lion that provides a really easy way to share files between supported, Wi-Fi enabled Macs, without having to connect through the local Wi-Fi network. AirDrop is a breeze to use if you have the right Mac.

You’re out of luck if your machine doesn’t have the right hardware. specifically, if it doesn’t have Wi-Fi chips capable of personal area networking (PAN) for peer-to-peer connections. Many Macs, even many capable of running Lion don’t have those chips and so can’t use AirDrop.

But, it turns out, there’s a workaround. If you have one of those older Macs, you can add a setting to AirDrop defaults that allows AirDrop to work over regular networks, not just PAN's.

HOW TO: Patch Settings.app to Show Jailbroken Preference Bundles in iOS 5

Here’s the story: every tweak that has its own settings in the Settings.app uses PreferenceLoader to get there. In iOS 5 PreferenceLoader is working… sorta. Dustin Howett, the guy who wrote PreferenceLoader, said he is not going to fix it until iOS 5 goes public, and whoever needs it at the moment, should be savvy enough to work around it. Fair enough…

The thing is, not everybody is a coder, and some of the people that are rocking iOS5 beta at the moment are just testers. Obviously not everybody should be on iOS 5 at the moment, there’s no argument here. But if you have a registered iOS 5 device, nobody should tell you that you can’t test stuff out. In this tutorial we’re going to show you how to patch the Settings.app to show the preference bundle in iOS 5. Let’s get to it.

1. Go to the Mac App Store and get the latest version of Xcode and install it( if you’re a dev on iOS 5, you should already have it )

2. Go to Filippo Biga’s github and download settings patcher

3. Unzip it, and open terminal

4. In terminal type cd path_to_FilippoBiga-iOS-Utilities-5c70846 2_settings_patcher_osx and press enter ( or just browse to the osx folder, type cd and drag and drop the osx folder in terminal )

5. Type make and press enter

6. Inside the osx folder you should see a new file

7. SSH into your iOS device and drop the new file into /usr/bin/

8. Restart your device and enjoy

Modder67 said:

Alright so i was looking around ifile and i managed to find themes in stash so i played around with it for a little and this is what i found

Alright for this tut you will need
1.ifile
2.at least 3 cool themes
3.and basic knowledge of ifile

Alright first navigate to
/var/stash/themes

Then pick the least favorite theme of the three

This was mine now navigate to one of you other themes with a cool background and copy in

Now c&p it to you least favoritr theme and overite.
You can also do the same thing with the lock background.

Now for the icons go to one of your themes and pick some cool icon and mix and match icons from the different themes then c&p them to the least favorite theme in the icon folder overite

Now your custom theme is complete.

Heres what mine looked like after i was finished
